The Way of Utopia: The Rebirth of Nirvana, The Blooming of Hope is a intrusive performance not only an unpredictable two-way interactive creation experienced collectively by both the artist herself and the public but also a social experiment to challenge the bias, stereotyping, pride, and prejudice of society. With the fundamental elements of encounter Asia and Europe cultures, it also encompasses soundscape, soundwalk, theatre, installation, composition, and improvisation. The designed yet improvised performance, brought Taiwanese death ritual, reincarnation, and mythology into normal Dutch daily life. By resonating the surroundings with the embodiment of fear and act of love, ‘presenting the present-giving the white chrysanthemum installation’ to the public accomplishes with the unexpected discomfort, surprise, joyful, and rejection from all participants, whether you are a giver, receiver, or watcher. It depends on how you perceive and confront this unusual incident. The Way of Utopia sheds light on rising from the ashes and finding hope in the darkest of times.
