The Way of Utopia: Ritual Encounter  is an extension of The Way of Utopia: The Rebirth of Nirvana, The Blooming of Hope. Performed on 6 September 2025 at Door Open Space during 24 uur Noord, it marked the reopening of the ghost gate, the moment when spirits return and the living are invited to face what lingers unseen.

From Keelung Harbour (基隆海港), the voices of Yin Yue Yu (音樂魚) echoed through the waves, while P’eng-hu Kui-tshī (澎湖鬼市) breathed in silence. She arrived with Śveta Mañjūṣaka (白曼珠沙華), the flower that blooms on the edge of remembrance. If you see her, you will know.

It was not a spectacle but an encounter, a ritual between artist and audience, the seen and the unseen. In the presence of white chrysanthemums and trembling candlelight, boundaries dissolved, between giver and receiver, watcher and participant. It was an offering of memory and fear, of tenderness and undoing. Like the tide, she mumbled again. The cycle continues, reborn through ritual.

It is both a collective experience that challenges bias, stereotyping, and pride. Bringing together Asian and European cultural elements, the work blends soundscape, soundwalk, theatre, installation, composition, and improvisation. Taiwanese death ritual, reincarnation, and mythology are woven into the fabric of Dutch daily life, a conversation between memory, migration, and the longing to begin again.
